Fly Navy Federation

The Royal Navy has always prided itself on its "All of One Company" philosophy, one embraced wholeheartedly by the Fleet Air Arm.
However, those involved with embarked aviation in the challenging environment habitats from Carrier flight decks to Borneo jungles and Desert wastes have bred generations of individuals - characters - who have become the stuff of legend. Each Branch has cultivated its own characteristics and heroes, and around these talisman they have formed the various Fleet Air Arm Associations, from the front leaders some 60 years ago, the Telegraphist Air Gunners (TAGs) to the newest (in 2007) the RN Photographers Association. In between are the giants of the stage, the Fleet Air Arm Officers Association (FAAOA) with their 50th anniversary in 2007, the Fleet Air Arm Association (FAAA) with some 25 years to their credit. The smaller but equally active Aircrewmans Association celebrated 30 years in 2007.

At an inaugural meeting, hosted by Rear Admiral Fleet Air Arm, Vice Admiral Adrian Johns on 8th June 2007, the key representatives of 8 Associations agreed to unite under the banner of FLY NAVY Federation.

This in no way dilutes the autonomy of the Individual Associations with their unique membership, newsletters, magazines and impressive array of social functions. It allows us all, however to co-ordinate our efforts towards the common goal of raising the profile of the Fleet Air Arm and jointly to raise the funds to ensure the promotion of the Fleet Air Arm into the future.

The future is bright - the future is FLY NAVY - don't miss the flight, join your Association NOW and become part of it!
